Fast Start
The Fast Start program introduces students who have an idea for a upgraded product or service, from any academic discipline, to entrepreneurial concepts through one-on-one counseling sessions with JCEL staff. These meetings help the students focus on their product or service concept and its ability to serve an existing or new market. As students work their way through the process, they develop a two to three-page written abstract that articulates the students’ business concept (product or service), makes assumptions about the market for such a product or service and how they would distribute the product.
Completion of Fast Start positions them to receive a Next Step Fellowship grant or complete a full business plan and move directly to capitalization of their businesses through the Student Seed Capital Fund. It is an excellent way for a students to “stick their toe in the water” and vet their idea.
