Juniata students can obtain internships with a variety of P.O.E.s. JCEL has internship opportunities for Marketing, Communication, Economics, Political Science, Finance, and Business P.O.E.s. Internships are also available with Sill Business Incubator tenants.
JCEL Internships
Marketing Intern
The marketing intern will promote Juniata College student entrepreneurs and companies located at the Sill Business Incubator. Intern will market JCEL programs and explore all channels of media (both traditional and non-traditional) to build relationships with target audiences.

HCBI Economic Development Intern
The Economic Development intern will assist in the economic development efforts in Huntingdon County. The intern will participate in a team approach to economic development, while also completing independent projects as related to the Huntingdon County Keystone Opportunity Zones.
The Huntingdon County economic development team includes Juniata College Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, Huntingdon County Business and Industry, Huntingdon County Planning and Development Department, Partners for Economic Progress, Chambers of Commerce, local government officials, Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission (SAP&DC is the regional economic develop group) and state government officials.
Projects as related to economic development in Huntingdon County may include (but not be limited to) assisting businesses with completing applications for state tax incentive programs and loan and/or grant programs, assistance with strategies involving business recruitment and retention, programs to promote HCBI within the county and region as well as completion of a commercial properties database. Promotion of the three cluster industries in the county through collaboration with Partners for Economic Progress and the Enterprise Zone will also be a part of the intern position. The student must be prepared to meet with all partner organizations under the direction of their supervisor and occasionally present findings from studies the intern participated in completing.

HCBI Marketing and Communications Intern
The Marketing and Communications intern will assist in the economic development efforts in Huntingdon County. The intern will participate in a team approach to economic development, while also completing independent projects.
The Marketing and Communications intern will assist in the economic development public relations efforts in Huntingdon County. The intern will participate in a team approach to P.R., while preparing pieces for publications as well as work towards implementing a social media marketing plan. The intern will assist in writing and proofing documents/applications. Promotion of the three cluster industries in the county through collaboration with Partners for Economic Progress and the Enterprise Zone will also be a part of the intern position. The student must be prepared to meet with all partner organizations under the direction of their supervisor and occasionally present findings from studies the intern participated in completing.

Quinn Analytics Marketing Intern
Quinn Analytics LLC, located in the Sill Business Incubator, is seeking an intern to support marketing activities, including but not necessarily limited to market research, competitive analysis, and development of marketing material. Candidate is expected to work with moderate supervision with direction and goals established by Quinn Analytics LLC. Candidate will meet with his/her supervisor at least once a week, and is expected to be reasonably available by email or phone. Working hours are flexible and the work schedule should be able to reasonably accommodate intern’s class schedule. No significant travel required. Candidate should anticipate an average of 16 hours a week.
Skills Required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Fluency in Spanish (New World) considered a plus.
Prior experience in marketing not required, but an advantage. Coursework in this area will be considered as experience. Candidate is strongly encouraged to bring to the interview examples of projects or other academic activities as well as any prior work from private or public sector experience.
Basic knowledge of statistics, specifically to aid in analysis of market research.
Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Experience in using the Internet as a tool and source of data.
